Belmeken is a peak in the Ibar part of Rila mountain in the Ntional park Rila with a height of 2626 m – 8615 ft above sea level. Also nearby is the Belmeken Dam at 1959 m – 6427 ft above sea level and the Belmeken Mountain Sports Center.

Highlights:
∗ Our team will be waiting to greet you at the parking behind Alexander Nevski Cathedral, http://!!!Green Valleys meeting point SOFIA google/maps!!!, or at your preferable location if requested in advance at the time of booking.
∗ The journey takes about two hours to the starting point for treks in the Belmeken Dam at 1959 m - 6427 ft. From there we will take Hiking trek to the next stop. The trek takes about 1.30 hours.
∗ We go out over the valley of the river Rust from where a panoramic view of the majestic peak Sivrichal (2642 m - 8667 ft) is revealed.
∗ A pleasant picnic amidst the captivating tranquility in the area of the mountain.
∗ Next Treck will takes about 1 and a half hours to the Belmeken peak (2626 m - 8615 ft) above sea level.
∗ After an inspairing break on the peak we will get back to the trek to the Belmeken Dam at 1959 m - 6427 ft above sea level. The trek takes approx three hours.
∗ Departure back to Sofia.
ATTENTION:
∗ Mandatory requirement for tourists – Before the start of each mountain hike, clients receive instruction from a licensed mountain guide and undertake to comply with the instructions given to them.
∗ Changes in the program are possible, based on objective factors, mostly of meteorological nature.
PERSONAL WINTER EQUIPMENT:
∗ Please wear comfortable hiking three-season shoes, warm clothes, dry food, water, raincoate.
∗ Geta for the feet.
∗ Stocks (with wide circles).
∗ Thermal underwear - top and bottom.
∗ Gloves - a pair of thin and a pair of winter (warm and waterproof), plus spare.
∗ Warm hat.
∗ Scarf or wind mask, buff.
∗ Ski mask - for bad weather.
∗ Flashlight
∗ Personal first aid kit.
∗ Windproof and waterproof jacket.
∗ Extra garment (fleece).
∗ Water bottle at least 1 liter.
∗ Hat/towel, sunscreen and sunglasses, raincoat.
∗ Insole (optional).
∗ In bad weather conditions the program can be shortened or replaced.

∗ 10:00 – 12:00: The journey takes about two hours to the starting point for treks in the Belmeken Dam at 1959 m – 6427 ft. From there we will take Hiking trek to the next stop. The trek takes about 1.30 hours.

∗ 18:00: Departure back to Sofia.
∗ 20:30: Expected time of arrival in Sofia at the parking lot behind Alexander Nevsky Cathedral or at your preferable location if requested in advance at the time of booking.

Belmeken is a peak in the Ibar part of Rila mountain in the Ntional park Rila with a height of 2626 m – 8615 ft above sea level. Also nearby is the Belmeken Dam at 1959 m – 6427 ft above sea level and the Belmeken Mountain Sports Center.
Rila National Park is the largest national park in Bulgaria. The Park contains rare and endangered wildlife species and communities, self-regulating ecosystems of biological diversity, as well as historic sites of global cultural and scientific significance. Some of the largest rivers in the Balkan Peninsula originate here.
There are 120 glacial lakes, including the prominent Seven Rila Lakes. The name Rila is derived from the Thracian word roula, meaning lots of water.
