Tour Details

Petrovski Krast Peak (1206 m) is the highest peak in Chepan Mountain (part of Western Stara Planina).

Chepan is located south of the town of Godech and the town of Dragoman, and at its foot is the Dragoman marsh. Chepan is part of the Western Balkan Mountains. Petrovski Cross Peak is also known as Golem Chapen.

In the late Iron Age on the southern slope of the peak there is a rock sanctuary dedicated to the cult of Sabazios-Dionysus, which continued its existence in antiquity, when in the II century BC. An architectural building was built for a temple dedicated to the same deity.

Razboishte Monastery

The Robber Monastery Introduction to the Mother of God is a Bulgarian monastery. It is part of the Sofia Diocese of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The monastery is located about 1-2 km from the village of Razboishte, in the gorge of the river Nishava, 9 km southwest of Godech and 79 km northwest of Sofia.

Remains of frescoes from the original church are preserved on the western façade, as well as in the nave and in the apse niche. At the northern end of the western façade are depicted episodes from the Last Judgment, dating from the late 15th to the beginning of the 16th century.
The remaining icons and utensils are from the second half of the 19th century. The old iconostasis from the 19th century is kept in the monastery, and the new one is from 1950.
