Milano
Visiting Milano – for the first or for the umpteenth time – means dealing with a series of clichés that have involved the city for years, and which in many cases are only partially true, exaggerated or clearly false: take the fog, for example, a phenomenon that has become increasingly rare.
The commonplaces also concern the things to do and see in Milan: if you arrive in Milan as a tourist you will probably think that the city is limited to the streets of the center, with the Duomo, Galleria, Castello Sforzesco and Teatro alla Scala. Maybe you will end up visiting Brera for the Pinacoteca, the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio and then perhaps the Last Supper (if you book early), and leave again thinking you have seen everything there was to see.
But Milan has changed a lot in the last twenty years, adding many interesting places and activities to those that have existed for decades, if not centuries. For this reason we have put together a list of the 30 places in the city that those who do not know Milan well probably ignore, but which deserve to be visited: from the modern districts of City Life and Porta Nuova to the less recent but also less visited ones such as the Maggiolina, passing through hidden monuments in secondary and local streets where you can have an aperitif or eat something different from the classic schnitzel, and stay away from the center as most people who live in Milan do.
Bergamo
Bergamo is one of the most interesting cities in all of Lombardy: in addition to having a respectable artistic and cultural heritage, it boasts green surroundings a few steps from the town as well as a mouth-watering gastronomic tradition. A city that lacks nothing, in short!
It stands on seven hills like Rome and is divided into two levels: Berghem de hota and Berghem de hura, Alta and Bassa.
Due to its conformation it is a city made up of stairs (there are those who go down and there are those who go up), or rather ladders: cobbled passages flanked by walls, sometimes steep and sometimes narrow (sometimes both!), Which in the past they were mainly used by peasants, but also by the inhabitants of Bergamo to get from one point of the city to another quickly without having to go all the way. Today the ladders represent a landscape and cultural peculiarity of Bergamo and it is a must to look for at least one!
