Kilimanjaro National Park with a climb to Mount Uhuru (5895m) with the possibility of a safari experience and vacation in Zanzibar.
Highlights:
Day 1 Flight from Sofia - International flights and arrival in the city of Arusha (1400 m)

Flight from Sofia 15:35 – Arrival in Kilimanjaro around 01:35 on 09/20/2025.
∗ 13:35: Meeting at Terminal 1 of Sofia Airport two hours before the flight.
∗ 15:35: International flight Sofia – Kilimanjaro.
∗ Flights usually land around midnight in Tanzania.
∗ After getting our visas, we make a transfer with a comfortable minibus to the hotel in the city of Arusha.
∗ Hotel accommodation, overnight stay.
Day 2 Transfer to Kilimanjaro National Park and transfer to Mĸuba camp (2650m)
Crossing for the day: 4 hours; 6 km; 400m positive and 40m negative gradient.
Included in the price: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinking water.
∗ Today after breakfast we will transfer with a comfortable minibus to the Lemosho entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park.
∗ From there we will start the real trek through the forests to Mĸuba camp (2650m).
∗ Accomodation in the camp in tents for two.
∗ We will have hot and delicious dinner prepared by our chefs on site.
∗ Dinner and overnight
Day 3 Transition to camp Shira 2 (3850m), 6 hours, 10 km
Crossing for the day: 4 hours; 6 km; 400m positive and 40m negative gradient.
Included in the price: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinking water.
∗After breakfast we head up. Soon we emerge above the woods and continue upwards with impressive views in front of us.
∗ After a few hours we pass Shira 1 camp (3500m).
∗ We continue a little further up to Shira 2 camp (3850m).
∗ At this altitude we will start to acclimatize better.
∗ We stay in the tents and have a hot dinner prepared by our cooks.
∗ Accommodation in tents for two.
∗ Dinner and overnight
Day 4 Transition to Barranco camp (3980m), 7 hours, 10km
Crossing for the day: 14km; 1300m positive and 300m negative gradient.
Included in the price: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinking water.
∗ Today is one of the most important days in our program – a day for smooth acclimatization. Unlike the standard 6-day program, which has a very tough fourth day, we will split it into two and acclimatize better for the sensational ascent of Mt Uhuru.
∗ After breakfast we will start the ascent to the Lava camp (4620m). It is located just below Lava Tower peak (4689m).
∗ After a refreshing rest, we will descend to the Barranco camp (3980m), where we will settle in the tents and have dinner.
∗ Accommodation in tents for two.
∗ Dinner and overnight
Day 5 Pass to Karanga camp (3995m), 5 hours, 6km
Crossing for the day: 14km; 1250m positive and 300m negative gradient.
Included in the price: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinking water.
∗ Our second day for smooth acclimatization.
∗ Today after breakfast we will make a light trek at about 4000m to Karanga camp.
∗ We will have lunch at the camp and spend a leisurely afternoon enjoying the majestic views around us. This way we will rest well and give the body the opportunity to produce additional red blood cells. And we will need them very much in the next few days!
∗ Accommodation in tents for two.
∗ Dinner and overnight
Day 6 Pass to Barafu camp (4680m), 5 hours, 6km
Crossing for the day: 6.5 km; 450m positive and 50m negative gradient.
Included in the price: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinking water.
∗ After breakfast, the final ascent along the slopes of Kilimanjaro will begin.
∗ We are already well acclimatized and with a brisk step we continue up to the Barafu camp (4680m).
∗ There we will settle in two-person tents, have lunch and prepare for the attack on Mount Uruhu, which will begin at night.
∗ Dinner and overnight
Day 7 Ascent of Mount Uhuru (5895m) and descent to Mecca camp (3060m), 12 hours, 17km
Crossing for the day: 4km; 450m positive and negative gradient.
Included in the price: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinking water.
∗ The time has come for the culmination of our adventure – around midnight we drink a cup of warm tea/coffee with something light to eat and drive up to the top. Our goal is to arrive at sunrise.
∗ On the way we pass by the high camp Kosovo (4850m) and reach the cap of the crater – point Stella (5740m). From here we begin the smooth ascent to the highest point of the volcano – Mount Uhuru (5895m).
∗ We enjoy the inspiring views at sunrise, take pictures with wide smiles after the successful ascent, and take a half-hour rest.
∗ Then we descend to Barufu camp (4680m), where we will stop for lunch.
∗ We will have a good rest and in the afternoon we will descend to Mecca camp (3060m), which is on the edge of the forest line.
∗ We set up in two tents and enjoy dinner with high spirits after this exciting day!
∗ Dinner and overnight
Day 8 Crossing to Mecca Gate (1630m), 3 hours, 9km and transfer to Arusha
Crossing for the day: 5km; with 1200m positive and negative gradient.
Included in the price: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinking water.
∗ It’s time for the last day in this magical mountain!
∗ After breakfast, we head through the forest down to Mecca Gate (1630m) of Kilimanjaro National Park.
∗ From there we will transfer to the hotel in the city of Arusha with a comfortable minibus.
∗ Accommodation at the hotel in Arusha city.

Day 9 Arusha - Kilimanjaro - Sofia
∗ Departure from the hotel today after breakfast.
∗ Transfer from Arusha by private bus to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
