It is believed that this trail was part of a pilgrimage route and connected the valley of the Beli Iskar River with the Rila Monastery.
Kirilova Polyana is a piece of paradise. Also known as Partizanska Polyana. Kirilova Polyana is located at 1465 m above sea level. in the center of Rila Monastery Nature Park.
During the trip we will pass The dry lake at 1928m above sea level – It is a landslide lake. The name Dry Lake comes from the fact that sometimes in summer, when it is very hot and dry, the lake dries up completely. Interestingly, a lake does not flow through a stream or river, but flows into the soil underground.
Our tour will finish at the Rila monastry. The monastery is one of the symbols of Bulgaria and is also a popular tourist destination. The monastery lies in the valleys of Rila Mountain.
Between Rilska and Drushlyavitsa Rivers, at 1147 m – 3763 ft above sea level. As a matter of fact throughout the centuries Rila Monastery has always been the spiritual, educational and cultural centre of Bulgaria.
The monastery is included in the List of World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
