Koncheto is knife-edge ridge in the Pirin Mountains in Bulgaria. At an elevation of approximately 2,810 m – 9 ft. Between the peaks Banski Suhodol (2,884 m – 9,2 ft ) and Kutelo (2,908 m – 9,5 ft).
There are steep slopes on either side. The northwestern side is almost vertical and 300–400 metres deep. While the southwestern side is less steep (approximately 30 degrees) but deeper (800 m – 2886 ft). There is a steel cable stretched along the top of the ridge to help hikers across.
Some less experienced hikers go through Koncheto by saddling the ridge edge like a horse and slowly advancing, hence its name.

∗ The journey takes about two and a half hours to the starting point for the treks in the region of Vihren hut at (1950 m – 6397 ft above sea level). From there we will take Hiking trek to the next stop. The trek takes about 01:30 hour.
∗ The Great Cauldron - it is a huge circus between the vertical walls of the two highest peaks in Pirin - Vihren peak (2914 m) and Kutelo peak (2908 m).
∗ A pleasant picnic amidst the captivating tranquility in the area of the Pirin mountain.
∗ Next treck will takes about 1 hour, we climb to the Bow (Premkata) - the saddle between the Pirin's summits.
∗ After a break we will get to the last trek, to the Koncheto at 2,810 m - 9 ft above sea level. Trek takes about 01:00 hours.
∗ Inspiring break at the impresive area of the Koncheto and then get bak to the Vihren hut at (1950 m – 6397 ft above sea level) and board the coach. Trek takes about 04:00 hours.
∗ Departure back to Sofia.
ATTENTION:
∗ Mandatory requirement for tourists – Before the start of each mountain hike, clients receive instruction from a licensed mountain guide and undertake to comply with the instructions given to them.
∗ Changes in the program are possible, based on objective factors, mostly of meteorological nature.
PERSONAL EQUIPMENT:
∗ Please wear comfortable hiking boots, warm clothes, dry food, water, raincoate.
∗ Windproof and waterproof jacket.
∗ Extra garment (fleece).
∗ Water bottle at least 1 liter.
∗ Hat/towel, sunscreen and sunglasses, raincoat.
∗ Insole (optional).
∗ In bad weather conditions the program can be shortened or replaced.

∗ Food for lunch, picnic type. It is recommended to consider in advance that our food is as energetic and healthy as possible.
∗ Travelers should have a moderate to good level of physical fitness.

Vihren summit is the highest peak of the Pirin Mountains. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage – Pirin National Park.
The altitude is 2,914 m – 9,560 ft above sea level. This is Bulgaria’s second and the Balkans’ third highest, after Musala and Mount Olympus.
Although due to the karst topography Vihren is deprived of lakes and streams. Number of Pirin’s lakes are located around the peak. It is Europe’s southernmost glacial mass.
The flora of Vihren’s slopes consists of herbaceous plants and lichens. Vihren is home to a number of habitats, including alpine and sub-alpine open calcareous grasslands.
