It is believed that this trail was part of a pilgrimage route and connected the valley of the Beli Iskar River with the Rila Monastery.
Kirilova Polyana is a piece of paradise. Also known as Partizanska Polyana. Kirilova Polyana is located at 1465 m above sea level. in the center of Rila Monastery Nature Park.
During the trip we will pass The dry lake at 1928m above sea level – It is a landslide lake. The name Dry Lake comes from the fact that sometimes in summer, when it is very hot and dry, the lake dries up completely. Interestingly, a lake does not flow through a stream or river, but flows into the soil underground.
Our tour will finish at the Rila monastry. The monastery is one of the symbols of Bulgaria and is also a popular tourist destination. The monastery lies in the valleys of Rila Mountain.
Between Rilska and Drushlyavitsa Rivers, at 1147 m – 3763 ft above sea level. As a matter of fact throughout the centuries Rila Monastery has always been the spiritual, educational and cultural centre of Bulgaria.
The monastery is included in the List of World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.

∗ The journey takes about two hours to the starting point for treks. Kirilova polyana is located at 1465 m above sea level. in the center of Rila Monastery Nature Park. Also known as Partizanska polyana. The trek takes about 02:00 hours.
∗ Next stop is The dry lake 1928m above sea level - It is a landslide lake. The name Dry Lake comes from the fact that sometimes in summer, when it is very hot and dry, the lake dries up completely. Interestingly, a lake does not flow through a stream or river, but flows into the soil underground.
∗ A pleasant picnic amidst the captivating tranquility in the area.
∗ After the break we geting bakc to the trek. The trek takes about 2 hours to the shelter Kobilino Banishte at 2145 m above sea level.
∗ From Kobilino Branishte we take the last trek to the Rila Monastry. Trek takes about 2 hour.
∗ Visit to the Rila Monastry.
∗ Boarding the bus.
∗ Departure back to Sofia.
ATTENTION:
∗ Mandatory requirement for tourists – Before the start of each mountain hike, clients receive instruction from a licensed mountain guide and undertake to comply with the instructions given to them.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT:
∗ Please wear comfortable hiking boots, warm clothes, dry food, water, raincoate.
∗ Windproof and waterproof jacket.
∗ Extra garment (fleece).

∗ Hat/towel, sunscreen and sunglasses, raincoat.
∗ Insole (optional).
∗ In bad weather conditions the program can be shortened or replaced.

∗ 15:30 – 16:30: Visit to the Rila Monastry.
∗ 16:45: Boarding the bus.
∗ 18:30: Expected time of arrival in Sofia at the parking lot behind Alexander Nevsky Cathedral or at your preferable location if requested in advance at the time of booking.
