Balkan mountain (in Antiquity: Hemos or Hemus). It is a mountain range on the Balkan Peninsula, on the territory of Bulgaria and Serbia. The most of it is located on the territory of Bulgaria, located along the country. Dividing it into Northern and Southern Bulgaria. The highest point is Botev peak.
Botev Peak is at 2,376 m – 7,795 ft above sea level, the highest peak of the Balkan Mountains. It is located close to the geographic centre of Bulgaria. Also is part of the Central Balkan National Park.
In fact the territory there are many natural parks. Protected areas and a national park. It is among the largest centers of endemic and relict species.
Due to the clean air and the high mountain character, Stara Planina is often a preferred destination for tourism and recreation.

Day 2
Holiday village an Eagle’s rock – ecotrail Iskar Panega – The God’s eyes cave – rock church st. Marina – v. Eagle’s rock.
Elevation: 237 m (from 57 m – 294 m), 777ft ( from 187 ft to 964 ft )
∗ Today after breakfast we will continue our adventure in the area, we depart towrads ecotrail Iskar Panega and the cave God’s eye.
∗ The first trek is bizarrely beautiful. You will be impressed by the blue-milky color of the water and beautiful nature.
∗ A pleasant picnic amidst the captivating tranquility in the area of the golden Panega.
∗ Next Treck will takes about two hours through beautiful nature, picturesque forms, canyons, caves, walks over the river, places for recreation to the the most wounderful cave in Bulgaria – The God’s eyes/ Prohodna cave.
∗ Visit the rock church st. Marina in the area.
∗ After a break in the area of the church, we boarding the coach and head back the the hotel.
∗ Dinner in the Hotel, relax at the charming atmosphere and get ready for the next day.
Day 3
Holiday village Eagle’s rock – Botev summit – holiday Village an Eagle’s rock.
Elevation: 1399 m (from 977 m – 2376 m) – 4589 ft (from 3205 ft – 7795 ft).
∗ Today after breakfast we will continue our adventure in the Balkan mountain, today we will conquer the highest summit in the mountain, Botev summit at the 2376 m. above sea level.
∗ Transfer to the town of Apriltsi.
∗ The journey takes about two hours to the starting point for the treks in the town of Apriltsi. From there we will take hiking trek to the next stop. The trek takes about 02:00 hour.
∗ Hiking trek to the under the ridge path from where a panoramic view of the rock phenomenon Kralimarkova Cup (the Cup) is revealed.
∗ After a break at the area, we get to the next trak, along the ridge path to the Botev shelter. Takes about one hour.
∗ A pleasant picnic amidst the captivating tranquility in the area of the Botev shelter.
∗ Final hiking trek from Botev shelter to Botev peak at the (2376 m – 7795 ft). Trek takes about one hour.
∗ After a inspiring break at the summit we will take hiking treck back to the town of Apriltsi. Trek takes about three hours.
∗ Transfer back to the holiday village Eagl’s rock.
∗ Dinner in the Hotel, relax at the charming atmosphere and get ready for the next day.
Day 4
Holiday village Eagle’s rock – eco trail Tectonic grab Kalet – cave Saeva Dupka – Holiday village Eagle’s rock
Elevation: 237 m (from 57 m – 294 m), 777ft ( from 187 ft to 964 ft )
∗ Today after breakfast we will continue our adventure in the area.
∗ Short transfer to the village of Reselets.
∗ Today’s trek starts from eco trail Tectonic grab Kaleto – The unique natural phenomenon.
∗ A pleasant picnic amidst the captivating tranquility in the area of the grab.
∗ Enjoyable afternoon at the magical cave Saeva Dupka – The cave has naturally formed 400 meters of corridors and halls. The cave has hosted many choral music performances, thanks to the excellent acoustic conditions.
∗ Transfer back to the holiday village Eagl’s rock.
∗ Dinner in the Hotel, relax at the charming atmosphere and get ready for the next day.
Day 5
Holiday village an Eagle’s rock – the waterfall “Varovite” – thracian fortress “Chertigrad” – Holiday Village an Eagle’s rock.
Elevation: 784 m ( from 500 m – 1284 m ),2572 ft ( 1640 ft – 4212 ft)
∗ After breakfast we will depart towards the town of Etropole, hiking to the to protected natural landmarks “Chertigrad” and waterfall “Varovite” in the balkan mountain.
∗ The trek start from the Eco Trail “Echo of a bell ringing”, which take us to the waterfall “Varovite” protected natural landmarks in the park.
∗ A pleasant picnic amidst the captivating tranquility in the area.
∗ After a lunch break, we take another hiking trek to the thracian fortress “Chertigrad”. Chertigrad Fortress is a protected natural landmark (rock complexes with forest vegetation, inhabited by rare and endangered mammals and birds of prey) and the “Benkovska Cave” (the cave in which Georgi Benkovski hid during the April Uprising).
∗ Transfer back to the holiday village Eagl’s rock.
∗ Dinner in the Hotel, relax at the charming atmosphere and get ready for the next day.
Day 6
Holiday village an Eagle’s rock – Rila Monastry – St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (Sofia tour)
Elevation: 647 m (from 500 m – 1,147 m), 2122 ft ( from 1640 ft – 3 ft )
∗ Today after breakfast we check out at the holiday village Eagle’s rock and transfer to the Rila Monastry in the Rila mountain.
∗ Visit the Rila Monastery, where you will learn a lot about the history of Bulgaria during the Bulgarian Revival Period (18th – 19th centuries).
Our tour guides will tell you many interesting facts about the history of these magnificent places.
∗ Lunch and relax in a traditional country restaurant while enjoying deliciously prepared mountain trout and a lovely atmosphere.
∗ Depart and head towards town of Sofia.
∗ 18:00: Expected arrival time in Sofia at the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and take part of the Sofia tour, we will explore the most impressive monuments in the capital of Bulgaria.
∗ Check in at the Hotel.
∗ Dinner in a thematic country restaurant with live custom Bulgarian dance (Horo), relax at the charming atmosphere, while being served delicious cooked food.
