DAY 1

From Sofia – Our team will be waiting to greet you at the parking behind Alexander Nevski Cathedral, http://!!!Green Valleys meeting point SOFIA google/maps!!!, or you can arrange your pick up point in advance with member of our booking team.
From Plovdiv – Our team will be waiting to greet you at the parking in front of the Hotel Ramada (Trimoncium Hotel Plovdiv), http://!!!Green Valleys meeting point Plovdiv. google/maps!!!, or you can arrange your pick up point in advance with member of our booking team.
Transfer to the town of Plovdiv.
Check in the Hotel in the town of Plovdiv.
Walk around the ancient Asen’s Fortress, a medieval fortress in the Rhodope Mountains controlled by the Thracians, Romans, Byzantines, Crusaders, Ottomans and Bulgarians. Asen’s Fortress is also the most notable examples of Medieval Christian architecture with frescoes dating back to the 13th century. The church is one of the oldest in all of Eastern Orthodoxy and has a tower once used as a belfry and watchtower.

Visit to the Bachkovo Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos, where you will learn about the Bulgarian history. You will learn about the creativity of Zahary Zograf (1810-1853), a famous Bulgarian painter of the Bulgarian National Revival, noted for his church mural paintings and icons and often regarded as the founder of secular art in Bulgaria due to the introduction of everyday life elements in his work.
Get to know Plovdiv. One of the oldest cities in the Europe – the beginning of its history dates back to 6,000 years BC. In ancient times Thracians inhabited the Three Hills and built a fortified settlement – the largest city in Thrace. In the 4th century BC Plovdiv was conquered by Phillip of Macedonia.

DAY 2

Departure to the architectural monument of Perperikon, located in the Eastern Rhodope and 15 km northeast of the present-day town of Kardzhali. Recent archaeological research clearly shows that the temple of Dionysius, the Sun God, was located right in the region of Perperikon.
Visit the stone Mushrooms near Perperikon.
Discover the antiquity fortress and Sanctuary at Perperikon. The medieval archeological complex Perperikon is one of the most ancient monumental megalithic structures, completely carved into the rocks. This is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bulgaria.  According to legends, two very significant prophecies were made from the altar of this temple. The first foretells the great glory of Alexander the Great and his exploits, and the second, which was done several centuries later, predetermines the power and authority of the first Roman emperor – Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus. Recent archaeological research clearly shows that the temple of Dionysius was located right in the area of Perperikon.
Picnic lunch among the a beautiful nature of the mountain, next to the park of Perperikon.
Visit to the Thracian Sanctuary of the village of Tatul and the Temple of Orpheus where the legends of Orpheus come to life. Orpheus was considered one of the chief poets and musicians of antiquity and is still a symbol of the art of music.

DAY 3

Today after breakfast we will continue our adventure in the Rhodope Mountains.
Visit to the Alexandrovo tomb and the Museum Center “Thracian Art of Eastern Rhodope”. The tomb in the vicinity of the village of Aleksandrovo dates back to the IV century BC, and is one of the most prominent monuments of the ancient Thracian culture. Visitors of the Museum Center can see the most remarkable archaeological sites in the Eastern Rhodope, Sakar Mountain and along the valley of the Maritsa River. The Museum Center exhibits a gold treasure, dated around 4500-4000 B.C. Jewelry and ornaments similar to the pieces found in the Varna necropolis are the oldest processed gold in the world.
Visit to the ‘Gluhite kamani’ area (the Deaf stones area). The area is one of the largest rock- cult complexes in the Eastern Rhodope. The sacred place was used by the ancient Thracian tribes who inhabited the area. The area was called Gluhite Kamani (The Deaf Stones) because there was no echo here.

Visit to the village of Mezek, famous for the well-preserved medieval Mezek Fortress and its two Thracian tombs, the Mezek and Sheynovets tombs. The Mezek Thracian tomb dates to the 4th century BC.

DAY 4

After breakfast we will visit the town of Kazanlak, located in the middle pf the plain of the same name, at the foot of the Balkan mountain range, at the eastern end of the rose valley.
Visit to the Kazanlashka Tomb, One of the most impressive monuments of the Thracian civilization in the Valley of the Thracian Kings.
Visit to the tomb of Seuthes III. Seuthes III was the King of the Odrysian Kingdom of Thrace from c.331 to c.300BC and founder of the nearby Thracian city of Seuthopolis.
Lunch and relax in a traditional restaurant while enjoying deliciously prepared food, fine wine and lovely atmosphere.
Enjoyable afternoon at the Architectural and Ethnographic Complex Damascena, where the legends of Orpheus come to life. Orpheus was considered one of the chief poets and musicians of antiquity and is still a symbol of the art of music.
Departure towards Wine& Spa Complex Starosel.
Hotel check-in. Hotel Starosel is located on the outskirts of the village of Starosel and is decorated in traditional Bulgarian style with natural materials like wood, stone and wool. The hotel is considered one of the pearls in the crown of Bulgarian spa tourism.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant, relax in a traditional atmosphere while enjoying deliciously prepared food, free time.

DAY 5

Today morning unfortunately is the last day, after the breakfast we can enjoy of the Spa facilities.

Departure towards the town of Koprivshtitsa, one of the most characteristic Bulgarian towns, still preserving the atmosphere of the Bulgarian National Revival period of the 19th century.
Lunch and  relax in a traditional restaurant while enjoying deliciously prepared food and lovely atmosphere.
Enjoyable afternoon at the Architectural and Ethnographic town of Koprivshtitsa. Koprivshtitsa is one of the most characteristic Bulgarian towns, still preserving the atmosphere of the Bulgarian National Revival period of the 19th century. The town boasts many architectural monuments from the period, 383 in all, most of which have been restored to their original appearance. Collections of ethnographical treasures, old weapons, National Revival works of art, fine fretwork, household weaves and embroidery, national costumes and typical Bulgarian jewelry have also been preserved. It was here that the first shot of the April Uprising against the Ottoman domination was fired in 1876.
Departure back to Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria.
18:00: Expected arrival time in Sofia and take part of the Sofia tour.
