The starting point is from the town of Lukovit and connects the rivers Zlatna Panega and Iskar. The trail is extremely picturesque and diverse. Beautiful nature, picturesque forms, canyons, caves, walks over the river, places for recreation. All components that guarantee a pleasant day.

The chery on the cake is on the end. The majestic Prohodna Cave (Eyes of God) awaits you.
Prohodna cave is a karst cave in north central Bulgaria. Located in the Iskar Gorge near the village of Karlukovo.

The altitude is 2,914 m – 9,560 ft above sea level. In fact this is Bulgaria’s second and the Balkans’ third highest, after Musala and Mount Olympus.
It is located in the northern part of Pirin and more precisely on the main ridge between Hvoynati peak and Kutelo peak, between the rivers Vlahinska and Banderitsa.

Also it is one of the most impressive places for tourism in the Pirin Mountains.

Between Rilska and Drushlyavitsa Rivers, at 1147 m – 3763 ft above sea level. As a matter of fact throughout the centuries Rila Monastery has always been the spiritual, educational and cultural centre of Bulgaria.
The monastery is included in the List of World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.

The Stob pyramids are one of the most popular rock pyramids in Bulgaria. Also included in the Red Book of Bulgaria as a critically endangered natural habitat. They are located above the village of Stob, in the western part of Rila Mountain. They are a complex composition of sharp and acicular, and for the most part pyramidal or conical earth shapes.

Ivan vazov еco trail  will take you on an incredible journey to the natural landmark Skaklya waterfall.

This place has been visited many times by Ivan Vazov. Here he wrote his famous works Iz mala Stara planina and Dyado Yotso gleda.

Pressed by forests, but to the south and north there are beautiful views of the peaks Barricades and Wolf. At the southern foot of the peak, among the beech forest, huge rocks, covered with moss and geranium, darken, which are called Detelinova Cave. The rivers Pyasachnik, Kriva Reka and Luda Yana originate from Bogdan Peak.
Bogdan Peak is part of the Bogdan Reserve (declared in 1972) and preserves a centuries-old beech forest. In it is the historical landmark “Detelinova Gramada”.

Kirilova Polyana is a piece of paradise. Also known as Partizanska Polyana. Kirilova Polyana is located at 1465 m above sea level. in the center of Rila Monastery Nature Park.

During the trip we will pass The dry lake at 1928m above sea level – It is a landslide lake. The name Dry Lake comes from the fact that sometimes in summer, when it is very hot and dry, the lake dries up completely. Interestingly, a lake does not flow through a stream or river, but flows into the soil underground.

Our tour will finish at the Rila monastry. The monastery is one of the symbols of Bulgaria and is also a popular tourist destination. The monastery lies in the valleys of Rila Mountain.

Dragovski kamak is a peak in Greben mountain with a height of 1118 m above sea level. It is located between the thorn villages of Vrabcha and Filipovtsi. The peak is also called the Bulgarian Matterhorn. I look from afar like a pyramid.

On Dragovski kamak there was an ancient fortress accessible only from the northwest, whose walls were built of crushed stone without solder. The fortress was of strategic importance over the valley of the river Klisura. Below the peak in the southeastern part of the hill there was an unfortified prehistoric settlement, inhabited according to the discovered remains during the Late Bronze and Early Hallstatt eras.
