This hiking tour will take you on a journey to the highest waterfall in Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula.
Raysko Praskalo – Heavenly Sprinkler is part of the Dzhendema Reserve at the National Park – Central Balkan at 124.5 m in height, situated under Botev Peak at (2,376 m – 7 ft above sea level). The nearest town is Kalofer, at (11 km – 6.8351 ml) to the south.

Our team will be waiting to greet you at the parking behind Alexander Nevski Cathedral, http://!!!Green Valleys meeting point SOFIA google/maps!!!, or at your preferable location if requested in advance at the time of booking.
The journey takes about two and a half hours to the starting point for the treks in the region Paniscite town of Kalofer. From there we will take  Hiking trek to the next stop. The trek takes about 02:00 hour.
Hiking treck starts from town of Kalofer, area Paniscite.
Short break at the Djendema Reserve with amasing view of the mountain.
Hiking trek to the Paradise Hut at (1430 m – 4691 ft above sea level) from where a panoramic view of Raysko Praskalo (“Heavenly Sprinkler”) is revealed.
Optionaly, hiking treck for abour 30 minutes to the Raysko Praskalo (“Heavenly Sprinkler”).
A pleasant picnic amidst the captivating tranquility in the area of the Raysko Praskalo (“Heavenly Sprinkler”).
Trek back to the town of Kalofer.
Departure back to the town of Sofia.

ATTENTION:
Mandatory requirement for tourists – Before the start of each mountain hike, clients receive instruction from a licensed mountain guide and undertake to comply with the instructions given to them.
Changes in the program are possible, based on objective factors, mostly of meteorological nature.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT:
Please wear comfortable hiking boots, warm clothes, dry food, water, raincoate.
Windproof and waterproof jacket.
Extra garment (fleece).
Water bottle at least 1 liter.
Hat/towel, sunscreen and sunglasses, raincoat.
Insole (optional).
In bad weather conditions the program can be shortened or replaced.

RECOMMENDED INFORMATION:
Food for lunch, picnic type. It is recommended to consider in advance that your food is as energetic and healthy as possible.
Travelers should have a moderate to good level of physical fitness.

In case of medical issues or allergies you should always consult your tour representative if you are not sure of what ingredients a dish contains.

Tour Itinerary

06:30: Tour starts from the parking behind Alexander Nevski Cathedral or you will be picked up from the place, if arranged with member of our booking team in advance. Departure for approximately 2:30-hours travel through beautiful countryside to the town of Kalofer.
09:30: Hiking treck starts from town of Kalofer, area Paniscite.
11:30 – 12:00: Short break at the Djendema Reserve with amasing view of the mountain.
12:00 – 15:00: We take a short break and start climbing towards Rogacheva Gora, Paradise Hut.

15:00 – 15:40: Optionaly, hiking treck for abour 40 minutes to the Raysko Praskalo (“Heavenly Sprinkler”).
16:00 – 16:30: A pleasant picnic amidst the captivating tranquility in the area of the Paradise Hut.
16:30 – 19:00: Trek back to the town of Kalofer.
19:30: Departure back to the town of Sofia.
22:00: Expected time of arrival in Sofia at the parking lot behind Alexander Nevsky Cathedral or at your preferable location if requested in advance at the time of booking.

Raysko Praskalo (Bulgarian: Райско пръскало, “Heavenly Sprinkler”), 124.5 m in height, is the highest waterfall in Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula. It is situated under Botev Peak (2,376 m) in the central section of the Balkan Mountains and is part of the Dzhendema Reserve of the Central Balkan National Park. The nearest town is Kalofer, at 11 km to the south.

The waterfall takes water from the snow drifts on Botev Peak and forms the river Praskalska which is a tributary to the Byala Reka River. The flow of fall is at its peak during summer.

In the foothills of Raysko Praskalo is located the 120-bed Ray mountain refuge which is the starting point for the tourist trails to the waterfall.
