Heraclea Sintica (Ancient Greek: Ἡράκλεια Σιντική)
An ancient Greek polis built by Philip II of Macedon, the farther of Alexander the Great. Where the legendary warrior Hercules originated. The town was located in Thracian lands of the Ancient kingdom of Macedon. Heraclea Sintica is mentioned by both ancient Greek and Latin authors.
There was more then 100 years scholarly debate about exact location of the city.  It became clear that it was location of Heraclea Sintica.

Architectural and Ethnographic Town of Melnik
Keeps more then  5,000 years  tradition and history of producing wine. The locals (Thracian ) the legends say: that Melnik were the Thracian city, and more particularly the Thracian tribe Maedi, of which the legendary rebel Spartacus originated. Also famous in entire Europe for its finest wine, since  with which it is famous even nowadays.

Tour Itinerary

∗ 08:00: Tour starts from the parking behind Alexander Nevski Cathedral or at your preferable location if requested in advance at the time of booking. The trip to the Rupite – The memorial temple “St. Petka of Bulgaria”  lasts about two and a half hours through picturesque Bulgarian nature.
∗ 10:30 – 11:00: Visit Rupite – The memorial temple “St. Petka of Bulgaria”. Bulgarian medium Baba Vanga lived and was buried.
∗ 11:00 – 13:00: From Rupite we will take hiking trek to the next stop the crater of the Kozhuh volcano . The trek takes about 02:00 hours.
