DUBAI
Drawing up one with things to see in Dubai is a difficult task because this dynamic city is in constant motion, admittedly projected towards the future. At the time of writing, many construction sites are working to complete new colossal works that will add to the amazing attractions of this metropolis devoted to luxury, excess, the incredible. In a constantly changing city landscape, however, it is possible to recognize some buildings that have now risen to symbols of the city: they are masterpieces of contemporary architecture with stratospheric costs. And not far from the VIP hotels, the marina of billionaire yachts, the largest shopping centers in the world and the exclusive towers, you can discover corners where Dubai’s past re-emerges.
It is worth leaving the glossy districts of the new Dubai for a while to dive into the evocative chaos of the souk, be dazzled by the white walls of a mosque beautifully decorated with Arab motifs, feel the wind that enters the houses skilfully channeled by ingenious ventilation systems of the past or photograph ancient fortresses. Put it away, when you have decided what to see in Dubai there will be at least five other amazing new attractions worth a visit.
The symbol of Dubai is Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world: 163 floors with a total height of 829 meters and equipped with 57 elevators. In comparison, the Empire State Building in New York with its 443 meters looks like a small house! Inside this futuristic skyscraper you will find everything: restaurants, clubs, swimming pools, luxury apartments and a very expensive hotel owned by the designer Giorgio Armani.
If you can’t afford entertainment or a VIP stay, you can always go up to one of the panoramic observatories on floors 124, 125 or 128 and admire a spectacular view from above over Dubai. The Burj Khalifa will soon have to cede its primacy to another grandiose construction destined to become a top attraction in Dubai: the Dubai Creek Tower (also known as the Iconic Tower) designed by star architect Santiago Calatrava.Another ingenious folly of Dubai that has become a symbol of the city is Palm Jumeirah, an artificial island that, seen from above, has the shape of a palm tree and on which there are billionaire residential complexes and the Atlantis hotel, a luxury design resort spectacular.
The island is practically reserved for the inhabitants of its exclusive villas and guests of the resort; the only two experiences granted to mere mortals visitors are to visit the island aboard the Dubai Monorail, a panoramic monorail that runs along the trunk of the palm tree, and spend a day of family-friendly fun at the water park

ABU DHABI
During a trip to the United Arab Emirates, visiting Abu Dhabi is certainly among the top things to do. Indeed, the capital of the United Arab Emirates is a perfect mix of past and modernity. Inserted in a wonderful natural context, the city is similar to nearby Dubai but retains a decidedly superior historical and naturalistic heritage.
If you are planning to visit Abu Dhabi, the first thing to see is undoubtedly the Zayed Mosque. Considered one of the wonders of the modern world, it is the largest and most beautiful mosque in the Emirates. The mosque was built in 2007 at the behest of Sheikh Zayed and is presented in a fascinating oriental style, with 82 domes and two splendid minarets.
The whole building is built in fine white marble and consists of 1096 columns with capitals in gold and precious stones. Instead, the inner courtyard is home to stunning mosaics spanning 17,000 square meters, as well as seven gold and Swarovski crystal chandeliers measuring 10 meters in diameter.
Finally, the interiors can also be visited by non-Muslims at set times. You will then be able to admire the largest Persian carpet in the world, handmade and from Iran. The mosque also houses an Islamic library among the richest in the world, a veritable world heritage that houses an immense collection of sacred texts.the Emirates Palace is one of the main attractions of the city. It is in fact the most expensive hotel in the Emirates and is one of the 7-star hotels on the globe.
This incredible structure is located in front of one of the most beautiful beaches in Abu Dhabi, and is built in classic Arabic style with a central dome 70 meters high surrounded by 114 other smaller domes.
Consisting of 302 luxury rooms and 92 suites overlooking the Persian Gulf, the prices are not exactly affordable. In fact, a night at the Emirates Palace can cost from 500 to 10,000 euros!A true symbol of Abu Dhabi, the Etihad Towers are visible from every area of the city and is the reference point for its citizens. The complex consists of five towers that were built in 2006, which house luxury apartments, offices and the 5-star Jumeirah hotel.
However, it is possible to climb to the top of the Observation Deck at 300, the highest point in the city. Among the things to do in Abu Dhabi it is certainly among those not to be missed, because only here you will have a view that sweeps from the gulf, to the islands, from the city to the desert.
However, it is possible to visit this wonderful building even if you are not a guest of the hotel. In fact, you can admire the opulent two-ton chandeliers and access the restaurants, bars, lounges, shops and galleries of the structure. Furthermore, along the kilometric central corridor, you can discover the archaeological finds kept inside and you can take pleasant walks in the beautiful Arab gardens.
