Christmas in Kiev

Kiev’s art and architecture are world treasures.

Christmas is a special in Kiev. During the holidays the city is different – festive and decorated, with lights and Christmas trees on every street, Christmas bazaars and Christmas music.
The Christmas mood is everywhere – the smell of mulled wine, local delicacies and crowds of happy people.

Kiev, the capital of Ukraine is located on the banks of the Dnieper River. The city is one of the oldest in Eastern Europe, тhe history of Kiev dates back to the fifth century.

The Church of St. Sophia and the famous Ukrainian Baroque Church of St. Andrew.  Two churches in the city center from the 11th century, famous for their catacombs, bell towers and museum collections. Near the central part is the Golden Gate, a structure dating back to 1037.

The Kiev Opera and the Kiev Youth Theater are also known. In Kiev is the large monastery Kiev-Pechora Lavra.
