RIGA
Overlooking the Baltic Sea, at the mouth of the Daugava River, in Latvia, Riga is mainly considered a cultural reference point for the country, and is famous for its double historical center: partly from medieval times and partly dating back to late nineteenth century, in perfect Art Nouveau style.
A local legend tells that every night a voice can be heard coming from the bottom of the river, asking a passer-by if the construction of the city is finished. The answer must always be negative, because when the city is completed, the river will carry it with it, in the depths of its waters.
In a sense, Riga, in Latvia and throughout Eastern Europe, represents a kind of post-communist metropolis, as it has shown a great willingness to evolve and develop as soon as the regime collapsed and today, the Latvian capital is considered throughout the eastern area a bit like Paris: rich in art and culture and characterized by a pleasant romantic charm.

VILNIUS
What to see in Vilnius? The capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, is considered the pearl of the Baltic and is a city of extraordinary beauty. Charming and unique, it occupies the first place among the tourist destinations of the country thanks to its lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere and the beauty of its monuments. Despite having one of the best preserved historic centers in Europe, Vilnius is still a little known and underrated city of art, but if you have the patience to follow us we are sure that you will fall in love with it.
The capital of Lithuania, located on the confluence of the Neris River and the Vilnia River, to which it owes its name, is a city with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Vilnius is a city where very different architectural and artistic styles have been mixed and is able to fascinate even the most demanding visitor. We will take you through the streets of its beautiful historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1994, between the Cathedral square and the Jewish quarter, to then reach the curious independent republic of Uzupis.
We will make you climb up to the Hill of the Three Crosses or the Gedeminas Tower, to admire the whole city with a single glance, but we do not want to reveal everything. The climate of Vilnius is intermediate between the continental climate and the oceanic one with very cold winters (in January and February temperatures below -25 ° C can be recorded!) And hot summers. The best times to visit are spring and summer, when the days are long and the city takes on an almost Mediterranean look, with many bars and cafes and a very lively nightlife. Vilnius was founded on this hill. 48 meters long, reached by a rocky staircase that starts behind the cathedral, or by the funicular. On the top of the hill stands the Tower of Gediminas, what remains of the castle built at the beginning of the 15th century by the Grand Duke Vitoldo.
Its walls were damaged during the Russian occupation (1655-61), but in 1930 it was restored to house the Upper Castle Museum, where you can admire armor from the period between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, and above all beautiful views of the Dedicated to Saints Stanislaus and Vladislaus, this national symbol stands in the same place where the cult of Perkūnas, the pagan god of thunder, was once celebrated. The jewel of the cathedral is the seventeenth-century Chapel of San Casimiro, surmounted by a Baroque dome and decorated with polychrome marble and frescoes depicting the life of the saint. Inside the crypts illustrious Lithuanian figures are buried, including Vitoldo the Great (1350-1430). In 1950 the Russians transformed the cathedral into a warehouse, art gallery and concert hall; Mass celebrations resumed only in 1989, the year in which the cathedral was rededicated. The bell tower detached from the Cathedral is very unique. Between the Cathedral and the bell tower there is also the Stebuklas (miracle), a stone that, according to legend, grants wishes if you turn around it 3 times.
